EMPLOYER NOMINATION SCHEME SUBCLASS 186 Direct Entry:

The Subclass 186 visa offers skilled workers in specific occupations the opportunity to live and work in Australia permanently.
 For the ‘Direct Entry’ stream, applicants must be nominated by an eligible Australian employer, and their occupation must be listed on the relevant skilled occupation list.
 A job offer from the Australian employer for at least two years is required. Additionally, applicants must obtain a positive skills assessment to confirm they have the necessary qualifications and expertise for their nominated occupation, be under 45 years of age at the time of application, and possess at least three years of post-qualification work experience.

EMPLOYER NOMINATION SCHEME SUBCLASS 186 TRT Stream:

The Subclass 186 visa offers a pathway to permanent residency for skilled workers in certain occupations, provided they are nominated by an eligible Australian employer.

Under the ‘Temporary Residence Transition’ stream, applicants must hold a Subclass 457, Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa, or a Bridging Visa (A, B, or C linked to a TSS visa). Typically, applicants are required to have worked full-time for their nominating employer for at least two years while holding a 457 or TSS visa. Applicants must be under 45 years of age at the time of application, unless they are earning a salary above the Fair Work High Income Threshold.

REGIONAL SPONSORED MIGRATION SCHEME SUBCLASS 187

 The Subclass 187 visa enables skilled workers in specific occupations to live and work permanently in Australia, provided they are nominated by an eligible Australian employer and the position is located in regional Australia. The Temporary Residence Transition Scheme (TRTS) applies to holders of a Subclass 457, Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa, or relevant Bridging Visas (A, B, or C).  Applicants must be nominated by their employer and generally need to have worked full-time for that employer for at least three years.

SKILLED EMPLOYER SPONSORED REGIONAL (PROVISIONAL VISA) SUBCLASS 494

The Subclass 494 visa allows skilled workers in specific occupations to live and work permanently in Australia, provided they are nominated by an eligible Australian employer and the role is located in regional Australia. Your occupation must be listed on the relevant skilled occupation list, and depending on the occupation, you may be required to demonstrate three years of relevant work experience. Visa holders must commit to working for their nominating employer in regional Australia for a minimum of three years.

TSS) VISA SUBCLASS 482 (MEDIUM/LONG TERM AND REGIONAL OCCUPATION LIST

This visa enables Australian employers to address medium to long-term labour shortages by providing temporary residency to skilled workers. It also allows holders to apply for additional visas while residing in Australia. The visa offers various streams, each with different conditions and eligibility criteria. This particular stream is aimed at addressing medium to long-term labour shortages, and the nominated occupation must be listed on the Medium and Long-Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) or the Regional Occupation List (ROL) for the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa.  Temporary residency is granted for up to 4 years, with a pathway to permanent residency available for eligible individuals after 2 years.

TRAINING VISA SUBCLASS 407

This visa permits holders to stay temporarily in Australia to complete workplace-based training or participate in a professional development program. It can be used to enhance skills in an existing occupation, area of tertiary study, or field of expertise.  Applicants must be sponsored by an eligible employer. While this visa does not provide a direct pathway to permanent residency, holders may be eligible to apply for other visas while in Australia.

TRAINING VISA SUBCLASS 407 TEMPORARY ACTIVITIES SPONSORSHIP

This visa enables the holder to stay temporarily in Australia to undertake workplace-based training or participate in a professional development program. It is designed to enhance skills in an existing occupation, area of tertiary study, or field of expertise.  Applicants must be sponsored by an eligible employer. Although this visa does not provide a direct pathway to permanent residency, holders may be eligible to apply for other visas while in Australia.

(TSS) VISA SUBCLASS 482 (SHORT-TERMSHORT TERM OCCUPATION LIST)

This visa allows Australian employers to address short-term labour shortages by providing temporary residency for up to 2 years, with the possibility of further visa applications while in Australia.
 The Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa has several streams, each with different conditions and eligibility requirements. This stream specifically targets short-term labour shortages, and the nominated occupation must be listed on the Short-Term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL). Temporary residency is granted for up to 2 years, or up to 4 years if an International Trade Obligation applies.
 Holders of a Subclass 482 visa under the Short-Term stream may have a pathway to permanent residency after 2 years through the Temporary Residence Transition Stream.
